If you’re looking for a gift, a unique baby shower present, or an attractive accessory for your home, Jesters Gifts always delivers. Owner Anne Eberdt established Jesters originally as a store that was located in Chapel Hill. Now Anne and her business partner, Nancy Pike, continue the Jesters tradition in their space at blvd Interiors Marketplace, as well as directly serving individual, corporate and design clients.

Anne and Nancy are devoted to searching out the best products to share with their clients and customers, and they recently shared with us their favorite finds and design philosophies.

Have you always enjoyed the world of gifts and interior design?

We’ve always loved the process of selecting a gift and making the wrapping as special as the gift itself.  We had dreamed of having our own shop and filling it with things that were unique yet affordable. The home goods aspect happened initially to help display our gifts in an eclectic manner. Our customers loved the unique products and vibe that we created, and a small design business began.

When you’re looking for product, what do you keep an eye out for? How do you determine what you’ll feature in blvd?

We’re always looking for things that grab our attention but that are unique in some fashion. It can be beautiful stationery or a funky lamp; something that we could see in our own homes. The second factor is price. We like to have things that are impulse purchases but are of great quality. We pride ourselves on knowing our customers and their likes. It’s fun to be working with a supplier, see a handbag or scarf and immediately know two or three people who would love to own it.

Do you have a favorite find?

Anne:  Jan Barboglio metal pieces and Stray Dog Designs lamps and mirrors.

Nancy:  Preserved boxwood balls.

How would you describe your personal style?

Anne: An eclectic mix of antiques, family pieces, and new finds.

Nancy:  Traditional with an unexpected “pop.”

What is the one piece of advice you would give to blvd customers about decorating their homes?

Go with your gut and try new things. You can always change it!

What is your style philosophy?

There is an art to having a bit of formality to a home, yet still keeping it comfortable and warm. We like mixing family pieces with updated fabrics.

Anne and Nancy are regular visitors to blvd, keeping their space fresh and updated with a changing assortment of merchandise. So be sure to check out Jesters Gifts the next time you’re in the store.
